    Mendip is an expanding, dynamic business that is looking for its newest team members. You will be required to run activities for a range of clients in a variety of locations, both locally and nationally. You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team and have a passion for delivering exceptional activity sessions.     Alpine Lounge Cafe-Bar Manager

    A restructure of the catering team has opened up a position for a new Manager in the Alpine Lounge.

    - Permanent contract

    - 40 hours a week

    - Shift pattern - 5 days per week including 1 weekend day and evenings as required

    Responsibilities

    Mendip is an expanding, dynamic outdoor pursuits business. The recent addition of a new residential bunkhouse has meant a restructure in the catering team and opened up the position for a new Cafe-Bar Manager.

    The Alpine Lounge Cafe-Bar is situated at our main base and is open all year round matching the opening hours of the centre. The team take care of all food and drink served to our daily customers whilst also catering for and looking after all parties taking place in our Basecamp room and bar.

    The core role will involve managing our Cafe-Bar Team whilst working in the cafe and setting the example for all members of the team to follow. A suitable candidate will be quick to learn how our business operates and the procedures we follow. The right person will manage their time efficiently with good organisational skills being essential. The job requires a polite courteous approach to all communication and is customer experience focused.

    The right person will quickly learn what we do and then seek opportunities to expand and grow the Cafe- Bar business, developing the customer experience with the aim of people visiting the Alpine Lounge as a destination in its own right.

    Key roles will include:

    - Managing a small team of full time and casual staff

    - Organising the team rota ensuring we have sufficient staffing at all times

    - Budgeting

    - Orders, invoices, stock checks and rotation

    - Menu development

    - Maintaining high levels of health and hygiene and the 5* rating

    - Keeping all allergen information up to date

    - Staff training

    - Serving customers and taking orders

    - Preparing and serving food items

    Essential criteria

    - Confident speaking to clients and suppliers
