To ensure tobogganing is COVID safe we are hiring our toboggan slope out to private groups and household units. Enjoy exclusive use of the whole slope or book half the slope and share with one other small group.
The best bit about exclusive hire means even the big kids can have a go! Yes, for the first time in over 20 years adults can have a go!!! But hurry, book your slot today - weekends sell out early and this offer is only on whilst social distancing is necessary.
- Exclusive use for up to 12 participants £35
- Shared use for a group of up to 6 people £25
- Tobogganing on the main ski slope £30

What is the difference between the two slopes?Due to massive demand for tobogganing, we have opened the lower section of our main ski slope up to tobogganers for the first time ever! Fear not, the slope will be closed to skiers and snowboarders during toboggan sessions.
When making a booking, you will be able to choose which slope you want to use. Both have a similar gradient of steepness and a light sprinkler system.
Please be aware that the ski lift will not be in operation during toboggan sessions so tobogganers will have to walk back up with their toboggan on either slope.
Sessions on our ski slope are only available whilst COVID restrictions prevent us from offering snowsport lessons.
What should we wear? All tobogganers must wear full length sleeves, full length trousers, covered footwear (no flip flops or crocs!) and a pair of full fingered gloves whilst on the slope. There is a light sprinkler system on the slope so you may wish to bring a change of clothes for after. We will go ahead in all weather conditions so please bring a waterproof if it's raining.
How do I book?We are currently taking toboggan slope bookings through Booksy, please click here to make a toboggan slope booking.
Can I cancel or rearrange my session? If you have pre-paid on Booksy there is no way to amend your booking through their system. If you cancel a booking you will still be charged and we will also have to pay their commission. However, if you contact us through our website with at least 24 hours notice we will happily reschedule your appointment. Just check availability on Booksy and let us know when you would like to move to. Just click on the email or chat link below!
Is tobogganing COVID safe?We know these times of uncertainty can cause some anxiety about being out and about. Fortunately, the outdoors is the safest place to be. You are currently able to book either half or the slope or the whole slope. There is a barrier down the middle of the slope to keep you separate. We have made our check in process contact free and complete the safety brief at a distance from you. All toboggans are thoroughly disinfected between uses and left to dry.
What age range is tobogganing for?Tobogganers must be over four years old and we have removed the upper age limit - so for the first time in over 20 years adults can have a go too!!! (but only whilst we are hiring the slope out on an exclusive use basis)
Can we use our Tobogganing vouchers?Unfortunately you cannot use toboggan vouchers or credit whilst we are booking exclusive use of the toboggan slope, rather than our usual individual space. All gift vouchers will be extended for the period of time that we are not accepting them for and expiry dates extended.
Can I park?We have a large car park onsite. Parking is free of charge.
Is your cafe open?Yes, but due to COVID restrictions we have a reduced menu and restricted opening times. Visit the Alpine Lounge website for more information. Hot and cold drinks, ice-creams and snacks are available at reception all day, everyday.
Are your toilets open?Yes, we have toilets available for customer use. There is hand sanitiser on the entry and exit points and they are cleaned regularly.
Do you have disabled access? We are very fortunate to be situated in such a stunning location set in the Mendip hills. Unfortunately, this does come with its limitations. We currently only have stair access to our slopes and cafe, and the paths leading to our onsite activities can be fairly muddy and uneven.
Pushchairs/wheelchairs/mobility scooters may struggle depending on what part of the centre they are trying to access. We are always happy to try and help where we can so please do give us a call to discuss your individual requirements.
