Assault Course

2 hour Assault Course challenge for all age groups

What is our assault course?

An assault course, also known as an obstacle course, involves individuals or teams overcoming challenging physical obstacles while being timed. These courses test speed, endurance and agility and can include jumping, climbing and balancing actions. They are often messy and muddy. It'll test physical abilities and evaluate group communication and cooperation. Our course consists of two parallel routes of obstacles including walls, balance beams, seesaws, crawl net, under/over bars and much more. If getting soaking wet and covered in mud is still your idea of fun, then our assault course is for you!

How does it work?

You'll meet your instructor at our private and rural Hewish Activity Site where you'll be fully briefed and introduced to our amazing Assault Course.

Where does it take place?

Our assault course is located a 20 minute drive away from the main Mendip Activity Centre at our private and rural Hewish Activity Site. Located on Wick Road, just off the A370, near J21 of the M5. There is no postcode so coming off the A370, the marked gateway is on your right, just 100 metres past the RCH Brewery and just before the motorway bridge. Drive carefully and slowly on the gravel access track for 400 metres until you reach the Activity Site Car Park. Your instructor will meet you there shortly before your start time.

Who can take part?

Our assault course can be booked in the following way:
  • Individual spaces (Age 8+)
  • Exclusive Private Group - up to 10 people (Ages 6+). If you book this option we can relax the child age restriction to 6+ so long as 1 adult (18+) is participating.

  • Important Information

  • Our assault course is an all-weather outdoor activity. We would always recommend you check the forecast weather, prepare to dress accordingly and bring a drink to stay hydrated.
  • We suggest you wear layers as your core body temperature will rise during the activity and warm you up, especially if it's cold. Consider clothing that is lightweight, moisture-wicking and quick drying. Good solid footwear, such as trainers, are a necessity- no flip flops or crocs. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and a towel for if you get wet!
  • Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are essential, especially on sunny days.
  • Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome to join you onsite however they cannot join you on your session. If you are bringing a dog, ensure you make arrangements for its care during your session.
