Frisbee Golf

Use your Frisbee to traverse our 18 hole, woodland, disc golf course in the fewest number of throws! Book your start time and stay and play for as long as you like. We suggest allowing approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to play the full beginner course.

    How does it work?

Mendip's 18 Hole Frisbee Golf Course, one of only 35 in the country, winds through beautiful woodland and over rolling Mendip hill tops with stunning views. Originating in the USA, Frisbee Golf is just like traditional golf, the difference is it's played by throwing a flying disc into a metal target in the fewest throws - instead of hitting a ball into a hole.

Frisbee Golf is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, get active and have fun trying something new with family and friends.

    Who is it suitable for?

Frisbee Golf is suitable for anyone over six years. Younger children are welcome to share your disc and play for free.

Walking shoes, boots or wellies are recommended. Flip flops, Crocs, sandals or open toe footwear is not suitable. The course is not suitable for pushchairs. Our 18 Hole Course winds through beautiful woodland and over hill top farmland. Our course is on fairly rugged land and is a walk of a couple of kilometers including stiles and some steep tracks.

PLEASE NOTE. The Frisbee Golf field goes through a field full of sheep. We strongly recommend bringing hand sanitizer!

    FAQ's

We have a couple of different types of frisbee golf vouchers.

If your voucher looks like this:

Add the number of children and adults you require to your basket and proceed to check out.

When you are ready, click "Book now" and proceed to check out.

After you have logged in, or created an account, you will get to a "Review" page of your booking. At this point, you want to input your unique voucher and security codes from your voucher.

Enter your unique voucher and security codes into the boxes and select the number of uses you wish to apply from the drop down menu.

    Click "Apply Voucher"

The voucher will then discount the value of your basket, bringing it down to £0.

Click Complete to finalise your booking.

If your voucher looks like this:

or is for a half price frisbee golf session,

There is no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day and bring your voucher with you.

If you have a half price voucher for Frisbee Golf, there is no need to book in advance. Just visit our centre when you would like to play and our friendly check in team will be able to take payment and get you out onto the course. Make sure you bring your voucher with you to receive your half price rate!

The course takes approximately 2 hours to play in full and you do have to complete your round and return to the centre before it closes.

Disc hire is included in the green fee however we do take a £5 deposit per disc which is fully refundable on return of the disc.

If you have a Frisbee Golf/Disc Golf voucher that does not contain any codes, or is for a half price session, this cannot be used to book online.

This is not a problem, just turn up at the centre and our team will check you in and get you onto the disc golf course as soon as possible. Please make sure you bring the physical voucher with you.

If you have a Frisbee Golf voucher or an annual membership, there is no need to book in advance. Just come along on the day you want to play and our team will get you checked in and onto the course.

Please make sure you bring your voucher or pass with you.

Once you have made a booking for your chosen day, you are welcome to arrive anytime within the booked period. We suggest allowing approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to play the full 18 hole course. All players must have returned to the centre by closing time.

If multiple groups arrive at the same time, we will stagger the time that you set off to allow for social distancing on the course

If you've caught the Frisbee Golf Bug, we've got some great deals on both individual and family memberships which allow you to play our course as many times as you like for a whole year. Frisbee Golf memberships are not currently available to buy online but ask our team whilst you are onsite and we can get you sorted straight away with an annual membership.

We strongly recommend booking frisbee golf in advance. You do not have to arrive at your exact time, just within the hour of your booking. Booking in advance allows us to monitor the number of people playing at any one time so the course doesn't become too full.

You can book online at https://www.mendip.me/book/discgolf/

Frisbee Golf is a self led activity so you can take the course at your own pace. We have 18 holes and it is a couple of km's walk so long it takes will depend on your group size and ability. On average, the course takes around 90 minutes to play in full.

If you are looking to book a session for an organised group (e.g. Scouts, Guides etc), please get in touch with our dedicated booking team via hello@mendip.me.

Our Frisbee Golf is set around our woodland area and we go ahead in all weathers. We suggest wearing clothing suitable for being outside and walking around the woods. Sturdy footwear is highly recommended.

The Yeti Hunt is included in every round of Frisbee Golf, especially for kids! There are 10 friendly Yetis hidden around the woodland Frisbee Golf course. Search for them as you play Frisbee Golf and find the code word to receive a chocolate reward!

Yes! Friendly dogs are more than welcome onsite and to join you on the frisbee golf course.

Please keep all dogs on a lead and clean up after them.

Ticks are present in the Mendip Hills. Ticks can be found in long grass, woodland, open country, public parks and gardens. Help prevent tick bites by sticking to paths, avoiding brushing against the vegetation, wearing light clothing so ticks are easier to spot and brush off, and using insect repellent.

Check your clothes and your body regularly for ticks when you're outdoors and when you get home.  Ticks can transmit bacteria that can cause diseases such as Lyme disease. Symptoms of Lyme disease can include flu-like symptoms and a distinctive circular rash.

For advice on removing ticks and what to do if you get a bite visit mendip.me/ticks

    Tobogganing

Tobogganing is a very popular activity and, especially during peak times, we have very little flexibility in being able to push your start time back. Where possible, we will get you onto the toboggan slope as soon as possible once you arrive. We will try to be as accommodating as possible and if there is availability later in the day, we will move your session to a later start time however please be aware that this is not always possible.

    Frisbee golf or recreational snowsports

We are likely to be able to change your start time at arrival as long as it is within our opening hours and on the same day.

    Private session
We will start whenever you arrive but we are unlikely to be able to overrun.

    Individual spaces on a session

We will do our best to fit you into the session at a point that does not disrupt it too much for other participants. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we're sorry but it is very unlikely we will be able to fit you into the session due to missing the safety and equipment briefing and kit up.

Let us know you cannot make your session, or request an amendment:

    Please email hello@mendip.co.uk

Our cancellation and amendment terms can be viewed here: https://www.mendip.co.uk/termsandconditions

Yes, the Alpine Lounge is open the majority of the time we have activities scheduled!

Check out our website https://www.alpinelounge.co.uk/ for the current opening times and to view the menu.

We do no accept bookings for the cafe, it is walk in only. There is plenty of space so you will not struggle to find somewhere to sit.

Well behaved dogs are welcome to join you onsite including in our cafe, the Alpine Lounge.

However, unfortunately, they can't join you on any of our activity sessions other than frisbee golf. If you are bringing a dog with you, one of your party will have to not take part in the activity session to stay with the dog.
