Caving (Swildon's Hole)
This three hour session is an adventurous challenge for explorers looking for a wetter, bolder experience.
What is Caving?
The Mendip Hills contain the largest underground cave network in the UK. Caving is all about exploring these incredible natural environments. Swildon's Hole is one of the UK's most famous caves, with an amazing underground river and complex system of passages and fascinating geological features.Who can take part in a Swildon's Hole Caving session?
W We strongly recommend that you have tried caving before. Swildon's Hole is a fun - but challenging - cave. Caving can be booked in the following ways:- Individual spaces (Age 12+)
- Exclusive Private Group for up to 8 people (Ages 8+)
How does a Swildon's Hole Caving session work?
You will meet your instructor at Priddy Green, where your adventure begins. We will provide a boiler suit, helmet and head torch. Please wear warm, comfortable old clothing that you do not mind getting wet - you will get wet on this activity! We have wellies available to borrow, or you may bring your own. Your instructor will tailor the route to your group's ability and pace to ensure the experience is safe, rewarding and enjoyable.Where is Swildon's Hole?
Swildon's Hole is located in the village of Priddy within the Mendip Hills National Landscape in Somerset.Important Information!
- You will get wet and cold, so please bring a towel and a full change of clothes for after the session.
- Dogs cannot join you on your Caving session.
- Bring an energy bar or snack with you for the trip to keep your energy levels up.
