This qualification provides a comprehensive foundation to leading archery. It is aimed at people who want to introduce a programme for beginners. If you are new to archery or new to leading an archery programme, working in schools, sport centres, outdoor education centres and adventure and holiday parks, this course will give you the information and skills you require. Full training and assessment delivered by a fully qualified trainer.
On the course you will complete four units and learn about:
Safety, range layout, different forms of archery
✓ All safety observances and rules
✓ Alternative safe range layouts
✓ Suitable rounds for beginners and juniors
✓ Various forms of archery
✓ Various incentive schemes
Shooting
✓ Practical skills using barebow and freestyle styles
Teaching and improving
✓ Demonstrate basic barebow
✓ Demonstrate basic freestyle
✓ Improve performance in both styles of shooting
Equipment care
✓ Advise on suitable equipment for activity groups and individuals
✓ Recommend sources of supply and be aware of costs
✓ Maintain equipment in good working order
✓ Understand the importance of equipment maintenance
