This Paddlesports Assessments booking allows you to complete Paddle UK leadership and coaching assessments with experienced assessors at Mendip Activity Centre!
What are Paddlesports Assessments?
Paddlesports Assessments are the next step towards becoming a recognised leader or coach on the water.At Mendip we offer a range of Paddle UK assessments, providing a supportive environment and experienced assessors to help you demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for certification.
How do Paddlesports Assessments work?
First choose the assessment you would like to take from the list below and check that you meet the prerequisites.You must then register for the assessment through your Paddle UK membership portal.
Once registered, book your assessment with Mendip by paying a £50 holding deposit. After booking you will need to send us your Paddle UK membership number and proof of registration.
Please register at least one month in advance so that both you and our team have time to ensure you are ready for the assessment.
Which assessments can I take?
- Paddlesport Leader: £250
- Paddlesport Touring Leader: £275
- White Water Kayak Leader: £220
- Sheltered Water Canoe/Kayak/SUP Coach: £275
What are the prerequisites?
Paddlesport Leader- Minimum age 16
- Paddle UK registration
- Safeguarding training within the last 3 years
- 1-day First Aid within the last 3 years
- Full National Association membership
- Minimum age 16

- 2-day First Aid within the last 3 years
- Full National Association membership
- Minimum age 16
- Paddle UK registration
- White Water Safety or White Water Safety and Rescue (or equivalent)

How do I register?
Head to your Paddle UK membership portal, click on the registration tab and follow the on-screen instructions.Before registering, make sure your profile is fully up to date and that any certificates such as First Aid or Safeguarding are still valid.

Important Information!
- A £50 holding deposit is required to request your assessment booking.
- We will do our best to provide the date you request. If this is not possible we will help arrange a suitable alternative or refund your deposit.
- The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before the assessment.
- Once booked, please email us your Paddle UK membership number and proof of registration.
