Level 1 Ski Foundation Training

A Two-Day Snowsport England (SSE) Level 1 Ski Foundation Training to prepare you for an assessment to teach skiing on artificial slopes.

  • Where does the course take place?

    The training takes place at Mendip Activity Centre or similar artificial slopes. Location details will be confirmed upon booking.

    Are there any pre-requirements?

    This course is available for anyone aged 16+ who can ski sufficiently well to cover the practical content of the course, including linked parallel steering.

    What's included in the Level 1 Ski Foundation Training?

    This award is designed for individuals looking to become instructors teaching beginners up to, but not including, paralell skiing at indoor or outdoor artificial slopes. The training covers:

  • Developing your personal ski performance
  • The fundamentals of alpine skiing
  • Techniques for working with novice skiers, including planning and delivering safe, enjoyable sessions
  • Building foundations for further skier development
