This two hour Kayaking session is a fun, confidence-building way to get out on the water and try something new.
What is Kayaking?
Kayaking is a simple and enjoyable way to explore the water using a double-bladed paddle. You will learn how to move, steer and control your kayak while enjoying time outdoors with family or friends.Who can take part in Kayaking?
Kayaking can be booked in the following ways:- Individual spaces (Age 8+)
- Exclusive Private Group - up to 10 people (Ages 6+). If you book this option we can relax the child age restriction to 6+ provided at least one participating adult (18+) is present.
How does Kayaking work?
You will meet your instructor at our private watersports site in Hewish. After a safety briefing and being fitted with a buoyancy aid, you will head onto calm water to learn the basics of paddling, turning and staying in control.Your instructor will be on the water throughout, offering tips, support and simple games to help build your confidence.
Where does Kayaking take place?
Sessions take place at our private watersports site in Hewish, around 20 minutes from Mendip Activity Centre, just off the A370 near Junction 21 of the M5.Important Information!
- Sessions last 2 hours.
- Kayaking is an outdoor activity - please check the forecast and dress for the weather.
- Wear quick-drying clothing and bring a drink.
- Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome onsite but cannot join the session.
