Bushcraft and Survival Skills
This 1.5 hour Bushcraft and Survival Skills session is a hands-on introduction to outdoor survival skills in the woodland.
What is Bushcraft and Survival Skills?
Bushcraft is about learning how to live comfortably in the outdoors using the natural resources around you. During this session you will explore essential skills such as fire lighting, shelter building, foraging and water purification.It is a fun, practical activity that teaches problem solving, teamwork and confidence in the outdoors.
How does the Bushcraft and Survival Skills session work?
Our sessions take place in our woodland and change throughout the year to make the most of the seasons, weather and natural environment. Each session focuses on a different survival skill, meaning you can return at different times of the year to learn something new.Seasonal sessions include:
- Spring - Foraging and cooking food over an open fire
- Summer - Water collection and purification techniques
- Autumn - Shelter building and woodland survival skills
- Winter - Fire lighting and basic knife skills
Where does Bushcraft and Survival Skills take place?
Sessions take place at Mendip Activity Centre within our 250-acre woodland estate in the Mendip Hills National Landscape. The site provides the perfect natural setting for learning outdoor skills and survival techniques.We are easily accessible from Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and the M5, with local rail and bus connections nearby.
Who can take part in Bushcraft and Survival Skills?
Sessions can be booked in the following ways:- Individual spaces (Age 8+)
- Exclusive private group for up to 12 people (Ages 6+). If you book this option we can relax the child age restriction to 6+, provided at least one participating adult (18+) is present.
