Abseiling
A two-hour 20m abseiling session in Sandford Quarry
What is Abseiling?
Abseiling is the controlled descent down a vertical rock face using a rope and harness. It is a popular adventure activity that requires no previous experience and very little physical effort. The biggest challenge is often stepping backwards over the edge and trusting the equipment.
Once you have taken that first step, the descent becomes exciting, rewarding and often leaves people wanting to go straight back up for another go.
The abseil on this session is around 20 metres (65ft).

How does the Abseiling session work?
Your instructor will begin with a full safety briefing and help you fit your harness and helmet correctly.A second safety rope is always used and controlled by your instructor, who will guide you step-by-step throughout the descent to ensure your safety and confidence.
Abseiling offers both mental and physical challenges and gives a huge sense of achievement once you reach the bottom.
