Try Archery
What is Archery?
Archery is the sport of using a bow to shoot arrows at a target. Archery strengthens self-confidence and builds resilience. It's great for both body and mind, taking concentration, strength and determination whilst calming your mind as you focus on the target. Not far from Mendip Activity Centre, in a peat bog on the Somerset Levels, one of the earliest examples of a hunting bow dating back to 2690 BC was uncovered - called the Meare Heath Bow. The bows and arrows you use at our Archery sessions are somewhat more modern, lightweight and powerful!
How does it work?
Try Archery comprises shooting at stationary targets set at specific distances and your fully qualified instructor will coach you and use fun games and challenges for you to get the most out of your session.
Where does it take place?
Our brand new, all-weather and purpose built outdoor Target Sport Ranges offer amazing new facilities for your target sport. These are located at the Mendip Activity Centre, nestled in our beautiful 250-acre woodland estate set in one of Southwest England's most special places - The Mendip Hills National Landscape. We are close to Bristol and Weston Super Mare, the M5 motorway and with local rail and bus connections nearby.
