A one-day Paddle UK course designed to keep yourself and others safe whilst on the water. Gain the tools and concepts to consider solutions to common issues on the water.

  • Where does the course take place?

    This course will take place at a watersports venue near to Mendip Activity Centre in Somerset, likely either Hewish or Clevedon Marine Lake. The exact venue will be confirmed upon booking. Please note, transport is not included.

    Are there any pre-requirements?

    There are no formal pre-requisites for this course.

    What’s included in the Paddlesport Safety and Rescue course?
    This course covers six key modules:
  • Clothing and Equipment
  • Safety frameworks, including safety principles and rescue protocols
  • Contact and Towing rescues
  • Self-rescues
  • Deep water rescues, including various craft, multiple rescues, unconscious rescues, and entrapped rescues
  • Reflection and development

  • We will provide centre-specific equipment. If you have your own, feel free to bring it along.
  • There is no assessment on this course, but it is a pre-requisite for other courses such as the Paddlesport Instructor.
