When are the lessons?
We have lessons on in the evenings, every weekend and throughout the school holidays at times to suit everyone. We put on as many lessons as we can. We are constantly reviewing where the demand is and will always try and flex our schedule to get certain levels in if required.
You have full control over booking your own lessons with our online booking system. You can view all of our availability by clicking 'SNOWSPORTS' in the grey menu bar. Feel free to have a scroll through our calendar before purchasing a snowsport course, we are sure there will be lessons at times that suit you, whatever your schedule!
What should I wear?
Something comfy! You definitely don't need anything special and we strongly advise against salopettes and proper ski jackets! A pair of joggers or leggings are ideal as they give you plenty of movement (avoid jeans whenever possible) and loose layers that will keep you warm but that you can easily remove if you start getting warm. If it's raining, we'll still go ahead with lessons so a set of waterproofs is always a good idea.
As long as you are warm and comfortable, have your legs and arms covered, and you have a pair of gloves, you are good to go!
How do the snowsport courses work?
Once you purchase either a ski or snowboard course you will be sent a personalised gift voucher with a set of 5 voucher codes. You can then use these to book your lessons online, choosing dates and times that suit you.
We recommend starting out by booking your Try Skiing/Try Snowboarding (depending on which course you purchase) and your 1 Star lesson. After these lessons, we strongly recommend booking your lessons as you go.
Our easy online booking system means that you have full control over when you choose to have lessons and can make a plan that suits you.
I don't know if I want to ski or snowboard.
The first lesson in both our ski and our snowboard course is a 'Try' session - a 90 minute, fun introductory lesson for total beginners.
If you can't decide, why not try both to begin with and see which you prefer the feel of. Once you've mastered one, there's nothing stopping you trying the other!
How long do I have to complete the course?
Our snowsport courses are valid for 18 months from the date you purchase! Once you start learning, we would recommend visiting fairly regularly just to make sure your last lesson is still fresh in your mind but ultimately it is up to you!
Is the snowboard course right for me?
Whether you're planning a snowboarding holiday, looking to learn a new skill or want to find a new way to spend time with friends and family whilst in the Great Outdoors, this snowboard course is for you!
Designed to take you from complete beginner to competent snowboarder in just 5 lessons, our snowboard course has everything you need to build your confidence and practice your skills so that you're looking great on the slopes in no time.
This course is suitable for anyone over the age of 8. Snowboarders must also have at least a size 2 shoe and be at least 1.2m tall.
How will my progress be tracked through the course?
Our digital course card system means that your instructor can leave feedback so if you have a different instructor on your next lesson, they will be able to pick up where you left off.
How do I use my snowsport course voucher?
If you have a Learn to Ski or Learn to Snowboard course voucher, this article will walk you through using it to book your first lesson and begin your journey to becoming a skier or snowboarder!
This article will use the example of skiing but the process is exactly the same for snowboarding, just look for Try Snowboarding sessions instead of Try Skiing.
Your voucher should look something like this:
You are going to use the codes outlined in the red box to book your lessons.
To begin with, you are only going to book your Try Skiing lesson. To do this, click here to view available ski sessions.
Scroll through the lessons available and select the "Try Skiing" lesson on a time and date that suits you.
Add the session to your basket and proceed to checkout.
If you already have an account with us, sign in and if not create an account.
Once you are signed in, you will be directed to the review page of your booking.
As you are booking a Try Skiing lesson, you will need the corresponding voucher code.
Enter your unique codes into the boxes and click on the "Redeem" button.
Once you click Redeem, the system will deduct the value off of your basket.
Close the popup window. If you have more than one course voucher and have added multiple spaces to your basket, you can now repeat the process with the other codes.
Scroll down and continue to checkout. You will be asked for some more information, complete the participant name and, if required, enter the age.
As you continue through the check out process, you will have a chance to read through our t&c's.
If you have additional items in your basket that are not covered by your vouchers, you will then be prompted for card details to pay for these.
If there is no value left to pay, your transaction will be complete. You'll receive a confirmation email from us which has all the details of your booking. (Our confirmation emails can sometimes go into junk/spam folders).
You can also view your booking by logging into your account.
Once you have completed your Try Skiing lesson, you can book your 1 star ski lesson by following the same process and using your 1 star voucher and security codes.
Please do not book lessons until you have been signed off by an instructor as ready to progress to a later star level.
Are there any hidden costs with the snowsport course?
Not at all. Equipment hire is always included in all of our costs, including helmet hire!
You wont need any of your own specialist equipment to take part in our course. You just need to dress for the weather in comfortable trousers, warm layers, full length sleeves and pair of full fingered gloves
The only other potential cost is if more than one lesson needs to be repeated however you'll receive a 50% discount on our standard pricing if this does happen.
What is a repeat lesson?
Skiing and snowboarding are skills which require a little practise to master. It will 'click' with some people quicker than others. Each of our lessons has a core set of skills which must be reached before you can move up to the next lesson. Your instructor will always let you know when you are ready.
Sometimes, stages take a little longer than others and it is necessary to repeat a lesson. Included in your course is one free repeat which can be used at any stage of the course, if recommended by your instructor. If further repeat lessons are required, you receive a 50% discount on our usual pricing on as many lessons as you need.
Our instructors are experts at what they do and will always tailor the lessons to your needs and learning as much as possible. We guarantee we will get you through the course!
